Ark: Survival Evolved Review

Recently I have made all my dreams of visiting Jurassic Park come true through playing Ark. Ark is a strange cross between the survival game style of Minecraft and dinosaurs. An amazing blend of tree and dodo punching all wrapped up into a challenging and rewarding experience. Ark offers the chance to fulfill that life long dream I have had to ride a dinosaur and has a huge level of freedom to both explore and build.

For me though, it was one of those games I’m not very good at! We all have them, those games that we can play for hours with little progress. Ark is definitely easier to play multiplayer but if you want to play single player (like I foolishly did) you may find you spend more time as dino food then doing anything else!

Ark is one of those frustrating yet amazing games, I can’t stop playing it but equally I can’t stop dying either. In this world it is very clear that Humans aren’t the top of the food chain (if anything we are at the bottom one up from the Dodo). You constantly have to push on and unlock new items to craft to improve your chances of survival.

If you like a challenging survival game that may just cause you to rage quit then playing Ark single player is for you. If you’re looking for a great survival game to play with your friends and not a dino food simulator then Ark is still the game for you. With beautiful scenery an amazing level of freedom and dinosaurs what’s not to love. I will definitely be playing more of it and hoping I die just a little less so I can see more of this amazing world!
