Memorable Gaming Moments 2017

With November nearing its end and Christmas on its way it is coming to that time of year when gamers put on their geeky Christmas Jumpers and look at their libraries full of this years games and think. What did I play this year again?

2017 has been an amazing year for games so far with some amazing releases from new instalments of the Walking Dead to Assassins Creed Origins. With the year coming to a close I wanted to reflect on the three games of this year that stood out the most to me.

Hellblade – Hellblade was an amazing gritty game tackling some tough issues around mental health, dosed with Viking lore and fighting. It is an amazingly beautiful game with a deep and action packed story. For more on Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice I posted my impressions earlier this year Hellblade First Impressions

Before The Storm – Life is Strange before the storm was my favourite game of the year. The emotional impact and use of music as well as the storyline all made the game my favourite and with Episode1 and Episode2 out the way I can’t wait for the final installment in this amazing sequel!

Zelda Breath of The Wild – Zelda is not a game I covered on my blog however, Zelda was a game I had loved unexpectedly. I must admit I had never  played a Zelda game before but Breath of The Wild was a beautiful and exciting introduction to the series.

To me 2017 has been an amazing year for gaming. These three games were the games that I found most memerable. But what are your most memorable gaming moments of 2017 to you?

  1. I’m currently ironing out my top list for the year, but both Hellblade and Breath of the Wild are easily in there. I absolutely loved both games. I played many Zelda games but didn’t expect Breath of the Wild to be as good as it was. As for Hellblade, I was very hyped going into the release and it delivered big time. There are some amazing and creepy moments in there and has some of the most terrifying boss fights ever. And instant classic that I hope keeps doing well. Would love to see more of these bite sized AAA quality games.

    1. Glad to see you enjoyed them both too! I think this years been pretty good for games (I obviously missed some of the larger titles from my list that I haven’t played from Horizon Zero Dawn to Assassins Creed Origins). But I agree the small AAA game idea is an amazing one and I hope we get more too!!

  2. Those are some very good titles indeed. I currently am in the middle of a Assassin’s Creed Origins serie on Youtube. But Hellblade will be the next game in line after I finish Assassin’s Creed. I also would love to play the zelda game. Maybe I wil get it on my Wii U soon haha!
